Our 44-week Community Services Worker diploma program gives you the skills and knowledge to administer and implement a range of social assistance programs and community services to vulnerable members of the community.

What will I learn?

You will learn to prepare intake reports; assess a client’s skills and needs; refer clients to required services; monitor client progress; provide crisis intervention; liaise with other agencies on behalf of your clients and much more. You will follow introductory courses in Psychology, Sociology and Social Work in Canada while developing your understanding of the relationship between family dynamics, at-risk populations, mental health and addiction. You will receive training in counselling and interviewing techniques and learn to work effectively in a team environment. You will also participate in a field-related practicum where you will put your new skills into practice and gain valuable insight into the field of community service work.

Please note that, to ensure the safety of our students and faculty, all programs are offered through remote learning.

What are my career options?

Upon graduation, you will be ready to pursue career opportunities in addiction treatment centres, mental health agencies, drop-in centres, group homes, youth facilities and more.
