Our 52-week Law Clerk diploma program develops the legal, administrative and research skills needed to become a valuable member of any law office team. Upon graduation, you will be able to write the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO) Estates, Corporate, Real Estate and Litigation exams.
What will I learn?
You’ll learn to draft legal documents; write and edit legal letters, memos and reports; conduct legal research; interview clients and witnesses; prepare trial briefs; draft legal correspondence and more. Our program focuses on developing your knowledge of key areas of the law, including Corporate, Business, Tort, Contract, Real Estate, Family and Immigration Law. You will strengthen other required skills through courses in legal research, tribunal and criminal procedures, ethics and employment law. A 120-hour field-related practicum allows you to gain experience and insight in a real law environment. Upon completing the program, you’ll be able to write the ILCO’s Estates, Corporate, Real Estate and Litigation exams for a strong head start in your employment search.
