About our Law Clerk program
You’ll learn how to draft legal documents, prepare letters, memos and reports and conduct legal research to support lawyers and clients. Your training includes interviewing clients and witnesses, preparing trial briefs and drafting professional legal correspondence used in real legal environments.
You’ll build knowledge in key areas of law including corporate, business, tort, contract, real estate, family and immigration law. Additional courses in legal research, tribunal and criminal procedures, ethics and employment law help strengthen the practical skills required in today’s legal workplaces.
A 120-hour practicum placement gives you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a real legal setting, helping you build confidence and insight into the day-to-day responsibilities of a law clerk.
Graduates are prepared to pursue opportunities as law clerks in law firms, corporate legal departments and government offices.
To help you move forward with confidence, a dedicated Career Services Advisor supports you with resume writing, interview preparation and job search strategies. As a Canadian Business College graduate, you’ll continue to have access to job postings, professional workshops and career counselling.
