About our Early Childcare Assistant program

You’ll learn how to support a child’s cognitive, physical and social development by helping create a nurturing and structured environment where children can thrive. Your training includes leading creative learning activities, assisting with daily routines such as eating, dressing and hygiene, preparing healthy snacks and observing children to record their progress and challenges.

You’ll study infant, toddler and child development, curriculum planning, health and safety and professional communication. Two field-related practicums allow you to apply your training in real childcare settings, helping you build confidence, practical experience and insight into the daily responsibilities of the role.

Graduates are prepared to pursue opportunities in daycare centres, nurseries, early learning centres and community centres.

To help you move forward with confidence, a dedicated Career Services Advisor supports you with resume writing, interview preparation and job search strategies. As a Canadian Business College graduate, you’ll continue to have access to job postings, professional workshops and career counselling.
